My Review of the Odele Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner
My hair is fine, curly and gets greasy very easily and I feel like this could be because of the buildup that has collected on my scalp due to the frequent use of hair care and hair styling products that I use on my hair.
This had made my hair stand very limp and flat at the roots and looked horrible without any hair volume.
Well, honestly, the fact that this shampoo promised hair volumizing drew me towards trying it out and I am so glad that I found this product because it worked wonders on my hair.
My hair looks fuller and so voluminous now. It has just been over two months since I started using this shampoo, but the results showed within the second week!
My hair took around a full month to get cleansed of most of the buildup, but now I feel like my scalp is much lighter and cleaner.
It felt super gentle on my sensitive scalp and what I truly loved about this shampoo is that it didn’t fade my hair colour at all.
I’d also like to make mention the fact that this shampoo, lathered well and made my hair feel super soft within just a couple of washes and it helped renew my hair shine and improve the sheen of my hair strands, which had previously looked very dry, dull and lifeless.
The conditioner I used was the same Odele Volumizing Conditioner (I chose this to get the best effects of this product) and what I liked about the conditioner is that it felt light on my hair and didn’t weigh my locs down. Neither the shampoo nor the conditioner left behind any residue.
Talking about the fragrance, like I said, I prefer milder scents (as I like to avoid free headaches, if you know what I mean!).
Well, lucky for me, this shampoo smelled heavenly! The smell was mild and subtle, even though I couldn’t really tell what exactly it smelled of, but it worked fine for me! My hair had a refreshing smell once it dried and that’s what I loved.
I chose to buy the shampoo along with its conditioner, because I wanted to get the best effects of using this shampoo.

I am someone who loves to experiment with my hair, so I use a lot of hair care and hair styling products. In the bargain, it has caused my hair to become weighed down and oily.
So I was looking for a shampoo that will cleanse my hair and also make my hair look voluminous, reviving my hair’s natural bounce.
Hair and scalp gentleness:
Whenever I buy a shampoo, I look out for one that contains no harsh chemicals like phthalates, sulfates, parabens etc, as my scalp is sensitive and these chemicals make my scalp and hair feel dry.
Effectiveness of the product:
This product promises moisturizing, volumizing and hair shine. So this aspect tests to see how well this product actually works. Whether it cleanses my hair well and gives my hair a renewed voluminous shiny look.
Scent and fragrance:
For me, any harsh fragrances are a no-go. So when I test shampoos, I look out for those that have a mild fragrance. Any harsh scents put me off.
The reason I am also particular about the fragrance is because this is how my hair would smell when it dries.
Use on colour-treated hair:
It has been over 8 years now since I started colouring my otherwise naturally black hair. So yes, I’ve done a lot of expensive colour-treatments and do not want my shampoo fading my hair colour. So this is an aspect I always consider.
If the product doesn’t make any specific mention about it being “safe to use on colour-treated hair”, then I check the ingredients and decide whether I can use it or not. Usually, products without harsh chemicals suit coloured hair just fine.

Yes it is sulfate free. It doens’t contain SLS or SLES. It does however, have the surfactant called sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate. But it is not a sulfate! This ingredient is a natural cleansing agent that is derived from coconuts and is used as an alternative to sulfates. It is safe for the hair and very mild.
