I regularly used these products for 3 months each to find out which brand works for me and I’ve compared and reviewed them in terms of ingredients, texture, fragrance, benefits, price, etc.

One of the major ingredients of OGX Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil shampoo and St Botanica Pro-Keratin & Argan Oil Shampoo is argan oil which is a renowned component for strengthening and moisturizing your hair shaft.

Since argan oil is rich in Vitamin E it reduces dryness in your scalp and makes your mane shiny.

Another ingredient in both shampoos is keratin which reduces frizz and also enhances the elasticity of the hair thus making your locks more immune to extreme hairstyles.

However, St Botanica shampoo contains more natural ingredients like jojoba, almond, hibiscus, olive, etc. St Botanica Pro-Keratin & Argan Oil shampoo has a natural scent to it while OGX Anti-Breakage shampoo has a neutral fragrance which I wasn’t fond of.

Price:

The OGX shampoo was much cheaper than St Botanica shampoo as it was priced at nearly $22 which was way expensive for a 300 ml bottle.

Texture:

I noticed that both OGX Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil Shampoo and St Botanica Pro-Keratin & Argan Oil Shampoo had the same thick liquid texture hence, I diluted them with water to form a lather to apply on my mane.

However, if you ask me which shampoo sat well on my hair I’d go with OGX Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil shampoo. It didn’t require much water to lather and a little was sufficient to equally apply all over my locks.

Results on my hair:

I definitely did experience amazing results after using both shampoos. The OGX shampoo helped me reduce dryness and frizziness by locking the moisture in my hair.

It also aided me to manage my split ends and strengthened my hair from the roots. Hours after showering my locks still managed to stay moisturized and smooth.

Meanwhile, St Botanica Pro-Keratin & Argan Oil Shampoo gave my hair a natural shine and smooth texture. It completely reduced frizz and gave life to my color-treated damaged hair. Furthermore, it also helped me combat hair fall problems.

However, I had to apply a larger quantity of St Botanica shampoo to get that lather and notice positive results on my mane.

My hair even felt slightly oily after using this shampoo which might be because of a few ingredients in the shampoo like castor oil, jojoba oil, and argan oil.

Each brand has its own pros and cons and since I’ve used shampoos from both brands I will choose the best brand based on my experience. I certainly witnessed mind-blowing results from both shampoos.

Although OGX products consist of only a few natural ingredients it was an affordable option for me and it lasted long because I only had to apply a slight amount to develop lather. OGX products also had impressive packaging which I personally love.

However, St Botanica products are predominantly comprised of natural ingredients and have a large collection of exotic products. Yet St Botanica products are on the expensive side and take a while to display results.
