Carbonic Acid: What’s the Hype about the Main Ingredient?
Let’s first talk about what this hyped up ingredient “Carbonic Acid” is actually! It is a compound that is made up of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon.
When these three ingredients combine, carbonic acid is formed, creating a foamy texture.
This ingredient is added into shampoos and that’s why this shampoo comes in the foamy form.
Carbonic acid can help contribute to hair growth because when it is used on the scalp, it helps unclog the pores or hair follicles that are clogged and were inhibited from growing hair.
In addition to this, this ingredient is also known to help stimulate and increase blood flow to the scalp.
When the hair follicles receive sufficient blood, they begin to produce hair and produce hair that is strong and well-nourished.
When the hair follicles supply sufficient nutrition to the roots, the hair begins to grow out thicker.
It is also known to help repair damaged hair follicles and revive dormant hair follicles towards hair growth.
Also, this acid also helps keep the scalp clean. When the pores on the scalp are clean, the hair growth is smooth and uninhibited, thus letting hair care products penetrate into the hair follicle easily and take action.
It can also help reduce excess sebum in the scalp, which can otherwise be another cause for clogged pores.
Carbonic acid can also help block the hormone DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which can otherwise be a cause for hair loss.
This acid is gentle on the scalp and doesn’t cause any kind of skin irritation and therefore, it can be used by people with sensitive scalp skin as well.
How I Tested this Shampoo Based on Parameters
Here are the parameters I chose to test this product:
Ability to cleanse the hair:
As per this parameter, I test how powerfully this shampoo works to cleanse my hair and scalp of dirt, grime, grease and buildup, without leaving any product residue.

Product effectiveness:
This parameter tests how effective this product was overall, in terms of its benefits, in this case hair growth and reduction of hair thinning.
Gentle on the scalp and hair:
I am someone who detests products with sulfates and parabens, as these harsh chemicals are not just damaging to the hair alone, but cause an irritation on my scalp as well.
So, I look for products that do not contain these ingredients.
Safety of use on colour-treated hair
My hair is colour-treated and therefore, I usually try to find products that state whether it is safe to use on colour-treated hair or not.
Well, sometimes when the product doesn’t mention this aspect, so I give it a try and hope for the best, if the product has promising advantages to my hair.
Fragrance:
I prefer shampoos and conditioners that have a mild fragrance, as this is exactly how my hair would smell once it dried and harsh scents really get to me!
So I look out for products with mild fragrances or are unscented.
Price:
Well, my ideal budget for a set of shampoo and conditioner would be a maximum of $40, because I think that is a reasonable price range to have.
In case any product promises drastic benefits for the hair with good reviews from other customers, I do make an exception.
Simfort Carbonic Acid Shampoo and Conditioner: Overall Review
I got enticed by the full-blown hype about this product and its benefits for the hair and bought it even though it was expensive. Luckily for me, it did work well!
This shampoo is a great cleanser for the scalp. It helped get rid of all my previous scalp buildup, grease, dirt and grime.
My hair and scalp is quite oily, so it cleansed my hair off the grease really well.

Talking about the hair growth part, I did notice the growth of a few new strands of hair on my scalp, which I was really happy about.
Coming to the reduction of hair fall, yes, it did reduce my hair fall to a large extent!
It also helped reduce my hair from thinning down and made my hair feel fuller and more voluminous within a month’s time.
The shampoo lathers well and doesn’t leave any residue on the scalp or hair. The conditioner doesn’t weigh down the hair and gives the hair a bounce.

The shampoo has a subtle smell and honestly, I really couldn’t tell what it smelled of, but it was fairly good.
One thing that I didn’t like is that since the shampoo is foamy, even though it was more in quantity than the conditioner, you require to use more shampoo as compared to the conditioner.

So this made my shampoo run out quicker than the conditioner and that left me with excess conditioner.
This is something I would like to make a special mention about – the price variation. Well, I bought this off of Amazon at $89.00, which was super expensive.
But what I realized later is the fact that the price of the same shampoo and conditioner set is cheaper by $10 on the official Simfort site and could have been bought for just $79.00!
So always looking up original product sites for cheaper rates for any product, is always recommended and as for me – lesson learnt!

Is the Simfort Shampoo and Conditioner worth the Price?
There was so much hype about this product and I have to say that its promising advantages enticed me to buy it even though it was super expensive and way out of my budget.
Well, while it did have good effects on my hair, I honestly think that it could have been cheaper.
It is definitely worth a cost which is above the average price range of shampoos (which is usually around $40), but $89 is definitely too expensive.
Also, for the price, the quantity is very less. So that too is something which I felt wasn’t feasible at all (especially if you have long hair).
In terms of it working for my hair, I would love to buy it again.
But since you require a lot more shampoo and the fact that it is very expensive, I wouldn’t buy it again if I found a relatively equivalent alternative.
How to use the Simfort Carbonic Acid Shampoo and Conditioner?
This shampoo comes in the form of foam, in an aerosol can. So make sure to wet your hair properly before applying the shampoo.
Then you will require to squirt a generous amount of shampoo foam onto your palm. Thereafter, rub it in between your palms and apply it on your hair.
Lather it in well and leave it on for a minute or two before washing it off.
Lastly, condition your hair as normal (this conditioner is creamy in consistency, just like any other conditioner is).
