What Bumble and Bumble Products Are Discontinued | 5 Fan Favorites You Can’t Find Anymore + Alternatives

In this article I listed out what Bumble and Bumble products are discontinued and listed out alternatives, including shampoos, conditioners, etc.

Bumble and Bumble, the popular hair care brand are well known for their high quality products over the years, have also discontinued some of their top-selling products, much to the dismay of many of their customers who loved them.

Here are some of the recently discontinued Bumble & Bumble hair products:

  • Bumble and Bumble Defrizz Serum
  • Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Shampoo
  • Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Conditioner
  • Bumble and Bumble Seaweed Mild Marine Conditioner
  • Bumble and Bumble Styling Lotion

What Bumble and Bumble Products Are Discontinued

1. Bumble and Bumble Defrizz Serum

What Bumble and Bumble Products Are Discontinued

Well, I have extremely frizzy hair, because my hair type is very dry and coarse and thanks to the Bumble and Bumble Defrizz serum, my hair used to stand in place and the flyaways reduced.

The good part about using this product is that you just need one pump and it is more than enough! I used this product for many years every time I styled my hair and man, my hair became considerably frizz free and with a renewed shine as well.

Also, it made my hair feel very soft, smooth and silky too, something that I had never experienced before using this product.

Unfortunately, it got discontinued and I was truly disappointed. Nevertheless, I now use the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser Invisible Oil, as an alternative to this product.

This product is quite good to keep frizz and flyaways at bay and also makes the hair soft, smooth and shiny as well. so definitely a good alternative.

2.  Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Shampoo

is Bumble and Bumble good for hair

This shampoo is particularly meant for oily, dry or normal hair types. So my dry hair, which is also quite greasy (thanks to all the products I keep trying out), really benefited from it.

It is a great hydrating shampoo and also makes the hair feel soft and silky once it dries. Also, it adds a lovely shine to the hair, bringing back the hair’s lustre and sheen.

This product was made with jojoba seed oil and aloe vera as a blended combination and was a very lightweight shampoo, which did not weigh down the hair upon usage. And according to this study jojoba oil has anti-psoriasis, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties (Gad, Heba A et al. “Jojoba Oil: An Updated Comprehensive Review on Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Uses, and Toxicity.” Polymers vol. 13,11 1711. 24 May. 2021, doi:10.3390/polym13111711).

It was not a sulfate free shampoo, but the good part is that even though I used it for many years, it didn’t cause any considerable damage to my hair.

I now use the Bumble and Bumble Full Potential Shampoo as an alternative to this discontinued product and this product has helped reduce my hair breakage to a great extent and has made my hair look more voluminous and stronger.

3.  Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Conditioner

I used this product in combination with the Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Shampoo and it worked wonders for me. Just like the shampoo, it is a lightweight conditioner and didn’t weigh down my hair, nor make my hair become greasy upon usage.

After every wash, my hair would feel softer and smoother and I must say that this product really benefited my hair well.

Alternatively after its discontinuation, I now use the Bumble and Bumble Full Potential Conditioner, which is coupled with the Bumble and Bumble Full Potential Shampoo and my hair has become stronger and more voluminous over time.

4. Bumble and Bumble Seaweed Mild Marine Conditioner

While I would always use the Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Conditioner along with the Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Shampoo, there was a time when the conditioner wasn’t available and temporarily I shifted to using the Bumble and Bumble Seaweed Mild Marine Conditioner.

This conditioner as well has a lightweight formula and didn’t weigh down my hair. It also provided my hair with sufficient hydration and it didn’t make my hair greasy.

It helped make my hair soft and manageable and was a good temporary replacement for me to my previous conditioner. What I also noticed is that after using this product, it helped me detangle my hair easily each time I needed to brush it.

Even though there is an alternative product, the Bumble and Bumble Seaweed Conditioner, I haven’t personally tried it out.

5. Bumble and Bumble Styling Lotion

The Bumble and Bumble Styling Lotion is particularly for damaged hair to help increase hair shine and lustre and to also help avoid hair breakage and knotting. Well, this is just what my hair needed and it worked perfectly for me!

What I really liked about this product is that it helped improve the flexibility of my hair and also improve my hair strength. It gave my hair a healthy shine and also gave me the ease of styling, which I didn’t have earlier.

Overall, it was a really good product and I used it for many years, so its discontinuation really disappointed me!

Alternatively, I now use the Bumble and Bumble Styling Crème which is also a very good product. It is a mixture and blend of mousse and cream. It helps build the hair body and adds a lift to the hair. Also, it is a great product to help style curly hair. It helps make my curls look more defined and less frizzy.
