Want to know about Herbal Essences Vs Aussie…which one is better? With the help of this article, you will decide for yourself.

It all started when I  was in desperate need to find a new detangling shampoo as my present one was not working for me anymore and so I did my research and came across these two brands.

If there was one thing in the world that is an absolute necessity for me, it would have to be my shampoo.

So, I was over the moon to come across these two renowned hair care brands and thought before sticking to one, let me experiment and decide for myself which one would be better in terms of pricing, cleansing ability, long-lasting effects and all that.

After using both products, I decided to share my reasoning below, but let’s get some details about both brands before we begin!

Herbal Essence Vs Aussie

Who is Herbal Essence?

With their original shampoo initially launched by Clairol in 1971, this brand is well-known for delivering some of the most iconic scents in the beauty industry.

Over the years, the formulas have evolved and the brand has launched numerous products under its belt, but one thing remains true, the brand’s loyalty to its holistically designed fragrances and botanical heritage.

This brand of incredible hair care products come under the famous Procter & Gamble since 2001.

I feel this brand appeals to a diverse customer base because of its use of natural ingredients that have been tested time and again to ensure consumer safety and quality.

Another thing I really appreciate is that the products contain an array of ingredients that are specially craft their products keeping in mind most hair types.

 Who is Aussie?

Aussie, which is short for Australia, is one of the finest shampoo brands available that has won many hearts because of the results that they deliver.

It was established way back in 1979 by Tom Redmond who had more than twenty years of experience in the professional salon industry.

He was inspired to create this brand after his visit to Australia and realized that many of the natural ingredients found there such as custard apple, blue gum leaves, mint balm, avocado, jojoba and so on.

The brand claims that all products are safe and suitable for all hair types-curly, wavy, straight, frizz, dry, and damaged, dry and even people with color-treated hair can use the products.

I also relate with this brand because it is free from parabens which makes it quite popular among other consumers too.

Comparing the Two Brands

Ingredients-

Why I personally feel the Herbal Essence brand really stands out is because the products are infused with natural ingredients, plant extracts, botanicals and delicious fragrances meant to nourish the hair better than any other regular shampoos.

Herbal Essences

Some of the key ingredients sussed include-Argan oil coconut, aloe vera, avocado, white grapefruit, honey, jojoba oil, birch, mint, jasmine flowers, cucumber, lavender, hemp, mango, eucalyptus, passion flowers, green tea, rose essence, blue ginger, rice milk, rosemary, tea tree, pomegranate, orange blossom, wild berries, hibiscus, and chamomile.

For Aussie Brand, there are a lot of nourishing and softening ingredients to make your hair feel soft and silky.

Also, you find conditioning agents like-Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Cetrimonium Chloride, Oleyl Alcohol, and Glycerin. These agents protect and smoothen hair cuticles, add moisture and prevent tangles.

They also have purifying agents like-Sodium lauryl Sulfate and Cocamide MEA that create a rich foam to remove oil, dirt and lathers very nicely. All products are ph balanced.

Sustainability & Cruelty-free-

Herbal Essences manufacturing sites in 2010 reduced total absolute energy by about nine percent and total absolute gas emissions by more than fifteen percent. Most of their sites are certified-Zero Manufacturing Waste to Landfill.

They are also proudly recognised as a cruelty-free brand by PETA which means all the products and ingredients will not be tested on animals. Herbal Essences and PETA have partnered for decades to promote the use of non-animal alternative tests.

Herbal Essence Argan Oil Shampoo VS Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo

The Herbal Essence Argan Oil Shampoo helps purify and protect your hair leaving you with a soft, free-flowing texture. The product is pH balanced and totally safe for color-treated hair.

Herbal Essences texture

The packaging is very neat and hygienic with a  flip-open top. The bottle is vibrant looking with bright blue colors and designs.

The size is large which makes it inconvenient to carry around but the lid of the shampoo is tight and closes really well. The bottle looks very attractive in my bathroom cabinet and is very attention-grabbing.

I have been using Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo for over six months and I am already so impressed with the results that I can’t wait to get some more.

Since I do experience dryness from time to time, it is super important to get a shampoo that does not in any way make it drier.

The description sounded so awesome unlike the regular boring shampoos, it claims to restore dry and damaged hair and is infused with an Australian Macadamia Nut oil to give your hair a pleasant scent. I love the packaging, it looks very elegant and the 250 ml bottle is a perfectly handy travel size.

The Herbal Essence shampoo has a very pale, whitish,  light and creamy texture that lathers effectively and spreads evenly around my hair.

The Aussie shampoo lathers extremely well because of its thick, creamy texture and cleanses my scalp without weighing my hair down.

Aussie Products

The Herbal Essence shampoo has a divine, pleasant and mellow scent. To me, it smells very vanilla and fruity. I am sure the smell will not irritate people who dislike strong fragrances. You can buy it online or in your local drugstore. I purchased mine for 11 dollars.

The Aussie shampoo smell is to die for! I love the bubblegum scent and how it leaves my hair scented for up to two days. I bought mine along with a conditioner on Walmart for around 22 dollars.

Overall, I found the Herbal Essence shampoo for the first time after I got my hair coloured. I was absolutely blown away by the fragrance.

Though it lathers decently, I found my hair silkier and softer after a few washes. It also took away the dirt and oil forms the scalp I will highly recommend this shampoo for those who have an oily scalp but please do not expect a miracle overnight.

Don’t overuse the product and just use as much as it is required for your hair. I don’t use this with a conditioner so I feel the shampoo does the job really well.

I picked both the Aussie shampoo+conditioner  together to get the max out of the product and I have no regrets. The difference is felt right in the shower itself as my hair felt softer and was easier to comb through.

Overall I am extremely happy with the soft shiny hair that the product gave me. It also made my hair styling and hot tools easier to use, so my slightly dry wavy hair was extremely happy.

Summary

Aussie is one of the best-selling hair care brands for repair and nourishment. But they do contain sulfates which may strip off your hair’s natural moisture.

The Aussie range of Calm the Frizz collection which is exclusively designed to tame frizzy hair. And herbal essences offer customers the choice between both sulfate and sulfate-free shampoos.

And Herbal essences are safe for colored hair and contain plant-based antioxidants to help protect color such as the ALoe & Hemp sulfate-free collection.

Between the affordable or more long-lasting, it can be a daunting task choosing one against these two perfectly lined up brands.

Therefore, remember to first identify which type of hair and scalp you have and then choose either of the above accordingly.

Ask yourself what you want from the hair care product in terms of scent, cleansing ability and affordability.

Ultimately, the choice is yours and determine the factor that is the most important to you and decide.
