Are you looking for shampoos with honey? Read on to find out all about it and what ingredients are used in this shampoo.
As someone who has had several years of colour-treatments and done heat treatments, my hair has become dry and damaged over the years.
Even though it was my own doing, I feel awful about how my hair is now and had to do something about it!
So that’s when I started looking for remedies for “dry” hair and guess what, all my searches lead to this one ingredient – honey!
It seemed to have all the possible benefits to treat dry and damaged hair from being a natural emollient, to being able to reduce frizz, soften the hair, repair the hair and treat hair damage.
Hence, I decided to try using honey on my hair, but in the form of my shampoo (to save my time and effort, of course).
I tried out 6 different types of shampoos that contained honey as its main ingredient and here is my review!

Godrej Professional Honey Moisture Shampoo
This shampoo promised “intense hydration” for dry hair and it worked really well on my dry hair. With every wash, I started seeing the results, my hair felt so much more softer and the frizz was reduced.

It really changed the texture of my hair and gave my hair a smooth and silky appearance. It made my hair more manageable and that was a relief!
What I liked about this product is that it is completely safe for use on hair that is colour-treated, so it didn’t fade my hair color at all.

Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Shampoo
Even though this shampoo is free from parabens, I was a little apprehensive about trying out this shampoo because it contained sulfates. Since my hair is already dry, I thought it could damage my hair further.

But the best part is that it did not! In fact, it made my hair feel much more moisturized and smooth. It also suited my colour-treated hair just fine, without fading my hair colour at all!
Also, I really liked the fragrance of this shampoo. It smelled like fresh honey and that was very pleasant.

What I was totally disappointed about was the price of this shampoo. I didn’t realize it was just a travel sized bottle and I felt that it was priced way too high.

Parameters I Used To Test This Product
I am big on testing and reviewing products for hair care and I make sure to review my products based on parameters and rate them on a scale of 1 – 5, so that the readers will have a fair idea of the product they may buy.
Here are the parameters I chose:
- Effectiveness on the hair
How well it worked on my dry hair and whether it made my hair feel moisturized, soft and smooth.
- Gentleness on the scalp and hair
This aspect tests how gentle the shampoo felt on my hair and scalp, also considering whether it contained harsh chemicals like sulfates, parabens etc.
- Fragrance
I am someone who detests harsh fragrances. So I look out for shampoos that smell mild, giving my hair a subtle smell when it dries.
The final takeaway
Choosing to use honey on my dry hair was indeed a good decision I made! It helped make my hair feel soft and well-moisturized.
So for those with dry hair, using a shampoo with honey is something I would definitely recommend and I hope my review could help you choose the right shampoo for yourself!
